CETAQUA (Coordinating Beneficiary)
CETaqua, Water Technology Centre, is a not-for-profit organization integrating, managing and performing research, technological development and innovation in the field of water, especially the urban cycle with national and international vocation.
CETaqua was created from the need to be recognized in the water sector as a reference centre, and to take benefit of the interaction of the three founders partners. This allows to cover fundamental research fields and to provide to the centre a wider and integrating vision at European level. The three foundation partners are Aguas de Barcelona the Polytechnic University of Catalunya (UPC) and the National Research Council (CSIC-IDAEA).
The objectives of CETaqua are the promotion and dissemination of research, technological development and innovation in the integrated water management. Additional efforts are directed to provide research and development support and experience to the public and private sector, to strengthening cooperation to improve the development activity in RTD in time, cost and quality by cooperation with other partners and increasing the collaboration with third organizations related to the water businesses, including the private and the public sector. Then main areas of activities of the centre are the alternative water resources as desalination and reuse, crisis management (floods and droughts), advanced water treatments, sludge management and odour control, operational cost management and implementation efforts on the compliance of the water framework directive development.
